Handwritten Physics Notes on Temperature

A handwritten physics note covering the concept of temperature.

Units and working, typeset

Units are set upright and the working stays on one line:

LaTeX source
A ball dropped from rest falls for $t = 2\ \mathrm{s}$:
\[ d = \tfrac{1}{2} g t^2 = \tfrac{1}{2}(9.8\ \mathrm{m/s^2})(2\ \mathrm{s})^2 = 19.6\ \mathrm{m} \]

How it works

  1. Photograph or scan the page

Take a photo (JPG or PNG) or upload a PDF. A multi-page PDF is read page by page into one document.

  2. Equations and diagrams are captured

Derivations are typeset in LaTeX, and sketches are cropped from your page and placed where they appeared.

  3. Preview and export

Check the rendered preview and download LaTeX, PDF, Word or Markdown.

Notation physics actually uses

Vectors come back with the arrow or bold you drew, time derivatives keep their dots, and units are set upright - 9.8 m/s² as a unit, not an italic variable. Multi-step working stays in an aligned environment, one step per line, lined up at the equals sign.

  • Vectors and unit vectors: \vec, \hat and bold, matching your notation
  • Derivatives and operators: \dot, \ddot, \partial and \nabla
  • Units with \mathrm, and tables of measurements as tabular

Diagrams stay in the solution

A physics solution without its diagram is half a solution. Free-body diagrams, ray diagrams, field lines and circuit sketches are detected on the page, cropped from your original and placed in the document near where they were drawn - sized in proportion to the page, not shrunk to a thumbnail at the end.

Homework, lab reports and revision

Hand in problem sets you solved on paper as a typeset PDF, move lab calculations into a Word report, or keep a searchable set of lecture notes for exam season. For revising on the move, any result can be read aloud in the browser, equations included.

Tables of lab measurements - trials, readings, uncertainties - are written as real tables rather than lines of numbers, ready to reformat in a report.

Frequently asked questions

Does it keep free-body and circuit diagrams?
Yes. Hand-drawn diagrams are detected, cropped from your original page and placed in the document near where they appeared, rather than redrawn or dropped.
Are units typeset correctly?
Units are set upright with \mathrm, separated from the number, the way physics style guides expect - not italicised like variables.
Which files can I upload?
PDFs, and photos in JPG or PNG format. Phone photos work; an evenly lit, flat, in-focus page gives the most reliable result.
What happens to my uploaded notes?
Pages are read by recognition models Scriveno runs on its own servers in Denmark - they aren't sent to a third-party AI provider and are never used to train a model. Uploads and every file made from them are deleted automatically after the file-retention period, currently 7 days. Read the Privacy Policy
